Save the Date: CESS’ North American Conference at Syracuse University, Sept 12-15

The Central Eurasian Studies Society is excited to announce a significant change in our conference programming for 2024. Breaking tradition, our annual conference will be hosted by Turan University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, marking a pivotal shift in our efforts to bring Central Eurasian studies to the forefront of global academic discourse. Following this, we are thrilled to invite you to the North American Conference, set to take place at Syracuse University from September 12 to 15, 2024.

This fall conference is also a call to scholars and practitioners from around the globe to contribute their research and insights. We are seeking proposals related to humanities and social science scholarship focusing on the expansive and diverse region of Central Eurasia. This encompasses Central Asia, the Caucasus, Iran, Afghanistan, Xinjiang, Tibet, Mongolia, Siberia, Inner Asia, the Black Sea region, the Volga region, and the broad expanse of East and Central Europe.

Syracuse University, a prestigious private research institution established in 1870, is located in the vibrant University Hill neighborhood of Syracuse, New York.
