Happy new year from the Central Eurasian Studies Society (CESS)!

This year, we plan to host our two postponed conferences – the 7th Regional Conference and the 21st Annual Conference. Provisional dates for both conferences have been announced and we will keep our website up to date with the latest news. Our ability to host either conference in person is subject to health and travel restrictions.

Join CESS as a member in 2021

Membership of CESS is not just about discounted registration fees at our conferences! Membership also brings you into our global Central Eurasian studies community and provides benefits ranging from being listed in the Member Directory to directly engaging in CESS governance and organization through committee membership or standing for election.

New regional student membership category

We are delighted to introduce a new membership category this year for regional students. If you are a student from Central Eurasia who is studying in Central Eurasia, you can now join CESS for just $10 a year.

All other membership rates have been frozen

We are also pleased to confirm that all other membership fees have been frozen at the same rate as last year.

Donate to CESS, involve more regional scholars

To broaden our accessibility further, CESS has introduced a donation stream to cover the cost of membership for students based in Central Eurasia. Donations may be made at any time. When donating, you can choose to support regional student membership or CESS activities in general.

We are looking forward to welcoming all new and returning individual, institutional, and lifetime members in 2021 and to continuing to build our community – in whichever formats are feasible!

(Note: if you were a member last year, you have already been sent your membership renewal invoice by email)
